Day 5 action in London saw Canada’s Marie-Eve Beauchemin-Nadeau compete in the women’s 69kg weightlifting. Although Christine Girard’s bronze medal performance yesterday would be tough to top, Marie-Eve put in a solid performance, topping the Group B competitors and finishing 8th overall with a 104 Snatch, 135 Clean & Jerk, and 239 Total.

Along with Annie Moniqui, Marie-Eve was competing in her first Olympics. At just 23, there’s a good chance it won’t be her last.
